RECENTLY, THE SENIOR TEAM WAS PRESENTED THE "PALEO CHALLENGE" INFORMATION. WHAT IS THIS? IT IS A HIGHLY DEDCATED STYLE OF EATING THAT REQUIRES COMMITMENT AND CHANGE REGARDING OUR CURRENT NUTRITIONAL HABITS. FOR THOSE OF YOU INTERESTED, PLEASE SEE COACH SHERRI (Sherri.Biringer@luke.af.mil) FOR MORE INFORMATION.

CODY RANKIN IS RIDING A UNICYCLE LIKE A PRO....

*** JUST A REMINDER, THIS IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY AND JUST ONE OF MANY DIFFERENT DIET/NUTRITIONAL PLANS THAT OFFER BETTER EATING HABITS AS A PRIORITY. OUR GOAL AS A TEAM SHOULD BE TO ESTABLISH EATING HABITS THAT SUPPORT OUR TRAINING, COMPETITION AND LIFESTYLE........START WITH SUBTLE CHANGES AND PROGRESS FROM THERE. WE CAN ALL EAT BETTER!!!

NEW TEAM POLICY

IN PRACTICE OR AT MEETS........ALL WSF ATHLETES WILL COMPETE AND TRAIN IN A CAP THAT IS "WSF" ONLY. NO CAPS FROM OTHER TEAMS WILL BE ALLOWED. ALL OTHER CAPS WILL NOT BE WORN OR TURNED INSIDE-OUT.

COLLEGE ATHLETES

The Silver Fins have many athletes currently attending college on scholarships; academic and athletic. During college breaks, our athletes often travel home for the holidays. While on break, some college coaches send their athletes home with expectations for training while away (you have to make 6 workouts wet/4 workouts dry). Some college coaches expect that you return home and make all "club" practices offered. Some college coaches have training camps that their athletes attend......

"I want to thank the current and former WSF athletes currently in college who took full advantage of their training opportunities while home during holiday break. In particular, I'd like to send a shout out to Kirsten Trammel, Kelsey Dickson and Erin DeVinney. I appreciate your devotion to this TEAM, your continued support and the positive example you display for our younger athletes while attending WSF practices."

***my expectation for current/future WSF athletes returning from college......attend practices and give-back to this team. The serious college athlete, particularly OLYMPIC YEAR, should be attending practices regularly and elevating the level of competition within practice with your presence.

SENIOR TEAM

SECTIONALS THIS SPRING WILL BE IN FEDERAL WAY, WA.(MARCH 8) AND IT IS LONG COURSE. TIME TO BEGIN THINKING ABOUT AIRLINE TICKETS. IWILL HAVE SET DATES AND TIMES PRESENTED BY NEXT WEEK.
***REMEMBER, IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND DESIGNATED AMOUNT OF PRACTICES DURING OUR HOLIDAY BREAK, THERE WILL BE NO TRAVEL IN MARCH. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAVE SOME ATHLETES THAT WILL BE STAYING HOME.

*IMPORTANT UPDATE IN WSF MEET SCHEDULE*

We have decided that our Age Group and Senior teams will be attending different meets on the same weekend (February 17-20). Our Age Group team (14 and Under) will be participating in the Lost Dutchman Invitational and the Senior team (15 and Over) will be swimming at the Phoenix Winter Invitational. We apologize for the added stress this might cause, but we feel each meet serves our groups in different ways.
Meet Flyers for both meets can be found here.....
